2008 Miss Senior Magic City

This week has been a long week.

My grandmother (Maw Maw) was placed in a nursing home in Jasper on Monday. She thought that she was going into the hospital. She doesn't want to go into a nursing home she wants to stay home but with her altzeimers is getting worst she needs 24/7 supervision and none of the family are able to provide that or can afford to hire a sitter for her. I went to see her Wednesday and she was doing good. She doesn't really know where she is. Dad went to see her today and she was doing good, she had packed up her stuff yesterday and said she was ready to go home. The doctor came in and said "Oh no your not ready". She is such a busy person. She can't sit still. She walks the halls and likes to help the nurses and folds towels and roams the halls. They already had to move her to another floor that has more workers so they can keep a watch on her since she won't stay in her room long. Since it is in Jasper, I'm not going to get to see her as much. I really miss seeing her. I will only get to see her maybe twice a week. Mother and I are going to see her tomorrow.

I got my haircut shorter yesterday. Randal said I didn't need another haircut. I told him to just get over it. I'm not going to let it grow back out. I think that I have found the style for me. I love it. I got the back cut shorter so it looks alot better now. The same girl cuts both our hair and I thought it was funny that he told her when he went yesterday to get his cut that she needed to add some extensions to my hair. He is so funny. When he saw it this afternoon he said it looked good. I told him he had to be lying since he hates short hair. He said no it looks good for a short style but it needs to be longer.

Today my mother-in-law was in the 2008 Miss Senior Magic City Pageant in Gardendale. I really thought that she should have won but she did place 2nd place. She had some good competition this time. I have posted a few pictures so you can see her. She did a great job at her talent and philosophy. She will be in the Miss Senior Trussville next Friday and then in the Miss Senior Rocket in Huntsville on Saturday. I'm hoping maybe she will win one of them.

Next week will be a little busier at work I hope since it is usually our busiest week out of the month.

Looking forward to our Ladies Retreat next weekend at the Alabama 4-H Club. It is always uplifting and I really need some uplifting at this time. I've been a little down for some reason. I'm so ready to start our house and I'm so ready to have a baby that it frustrates me. I think it has bothered me ever since I found out one of my close friends is pregnant again. I'm so happy for her but I want it to be me so bad it is depressing.

Please pray for me to stay positive about this situation. Hope everyone has had a great weekend and has a great week next week.

I hope your grandmother starts to adjust better soon. That is funny about the senior pageants!
I know you have been through (and continue to go through) a lot and I think you are one of the strongest people I know! I admire your ability to be such a good friend in spite of some of the challenges you have faced. That is something I have really had to make myself learn over the past few months and you are a great inspiration to me. Hang in there, love you!

Thanks for the uplifting words of encouragement. That means alot. You are too sweet. But I believe that you are a lot stronger then me. I haven't been through what you have and I don't know that I would have made it through it if I had like you have. You inspire me too! Love ya! Thanks for being my friend and sister in Christ. I've really enjoyed getting to know you.

I will be praying for you. I can't imagine the disappointment and sadness you go through. I am here for you and will do anything in the world I can for you. Please let me know when you're having down times like these. We can do lunch or just talk. You are a wonderful Christian woman and I am so thankful for your friendship and for how much closer we've become over the last year.

Hang in there and remember we are all here for you =)

Thanks Crystal you are just too sweet. I don't like to complain or show my feelings that much because I don't like anyone to show attention to me or feel sorry for me. I just do a lot of praying about it and pray for strength, faith and hope. I know that I have all my close christian friends to turn too but my problems seem so worthless compared to others. I am truly bless to have such good christian friends to encourage me and be there for me and for me to do the same. I just think the dear Lord daily for all that.

I don't see why it such a big deal for wives to wear hairstyles that their husbands think are sexy. I mean, it's more important for some women to impress their girlfriends than their guy. I do not get it. Wanna pump up your man's ego and morale? Grow your hair, if he loves it. Then ask HIM for return favors! Just bein' honest.
