Our Weekend

Well we had a great weekend. Friday night we went to our Family Retreat with the church at Indian Creek Youth Camp in Parrish. Randal and I got there at 5:10 and no one was there yet. Ronnie (our minister) had said that he would be there most of the day but he wasn't there yet. Christy Hyche and her family got there about the same time we did. We stood at the gate talking for a bit then Christy and I decided to take a walk. So we took off and walked about a mile or so round trip thru the camp and back. After about an hour or so, Ronnie and his wife showed up it was about 6 something. It was hot and we wanted to get in the air-condition. Needless to say to our surprise when Ronnie started to turn on the breaker to the power, there was none. They had to call the power company to come out. They didn't get there until about 7:30 or 7:45. We were suppose to eat at 7:00. Well that didn't happened. More people showed up and we just sat around talking and they started to grill the hamburgers and hot dogs . We didn't get to eat until about 8:15-8:30. We were suppose to have about 70 people there but we only had about 25 show. That was disappointing but we had a blast anyway. The power finally came on about 8:00 and we got set-up for supper. After supper, Ronnie and Ashley (our Associate Minister) spoke for about 1/2 hour or so then we split up and started playing games. Randal and me, Crystal and Nathan, Christy and Candace played hand and foot. Crystal and Nathan bet us. Others played rook or scrabble. We played until about 12 midnight then crashed. Christy and I got up about 7:15 and took a 30 minute walk ( I needed it because if you know me I exercise and after all that I ate that day I needed some exercise). We had a big breakfast that one of our elders and his soon cooked for us. It was wonderful. Everyone started leaving about 10:00. We really enjoyed ourselves. Maybe next time more people will commit to come.

We also had to go to my father-in-laws surprise retirement/b'day party from 1-4. He will be 70 on Wednesday and he is finally retiring after 36 years of surveying. He was surprised. It was nice and of course I ate more food. I'm going to have to get up and jog in the morning.

This has been a blessed weekend spending time with our christian family and friends. Hope everyone has had a great weekend like us. Mother and I are going out for our b'days tomorrow after church. Mine is Monday and hers is Tuesday. My father-in-laws is Wednesday. Wow! Lets just celebrate all month long. Oh it is just another day for me. I'm getting where I don't care to celebrate them anymore. I'm just glad I have one. I am putting a few pictures from the family retreat and the surprise party on for your viewing.
