Keva, Debbie, Reba and I had a great time on our girls trip to Savannah and Tybee Island. We got to Savannah Thursday (Sept. 13th) about 1pm. Let me just say that we took the scenic route where ever we went. It was thunder storming when we got there so we went to the local mall and hung out for about 1 1/2 hour until it blew over. Of course we found some bargains at the mall. After checking in the hotel, the girls wanted to take me out to eat for my b'day. We went to a place called Pearls Saltwater Grill. One of my co-workers in Savannah told me that they had great crab claws which is what I wanted. Well they didn't even have any. I ate char-grilled Mahi Mahi. It was awesome. They had wonderful hush puppies. Ok the eating had started. We stayed up late that night - I taught them how to play "hand and foot".
Friday we spent the whole day down on River Street. I bet we walked 10 miles that day or at least it felt like it. We went on a carriage ride tour. It was fun. It rained that night but we went to eat Chinese and played "hand and foot" again.
Saturday we got up early and drove to Tybee Island to spend the afternoon. I forgot to add that we were suppose to have a fitness room at the hotel but there wasn't one, so you know that I wasn't to happy about that. Even though we did walk alot - I went for a jog on the beach for a bit. The day at the beach was nice. We got alot of sun and had a breeze too. That night we went on the Riverboat Dinner Cruise. We had a blast on that. It had a buffet with music and they had a dance floor. I didn't dance of course because one I don't believe in it and two because I have two left feet anyway. But two of my friends did. One did the electric slide and the other one was doing the twist. We laughed so hard at each other that we were crying. Debbie and Reba got a little motion sick on the cruise but they didn't get sick enough to not enjoy it.
Sunday Reba and I went to the Oak Grove C of C that was about 30 minutes away. One of my co-workers goes there and wanted us to come so we did. Very old church - they only had 150 members but I think there was only about 70-75 there. That night we went to the Central C of C which was just down the street from where we were staying. Thank the Lord that they were scriptural churhes. You never know what to expect when you go out of town. We played more cards that day and went out to eat and packed up. We got up early today and went back downtown to hang out and eat lunch before we left to come home. We got to the Paula Deen "Lady and Sons" restaurant about 9:30 to get our names on the list for lunch. We have been told that you have to wait long time in line and we did try friday to get on but the line and the time to eat was to long and late. We only had to wait about 15 minutes in line and we got to eat there at 11am, It was great. Wonderful Southern food.
I just hate that my vacation is over and I have to get back to the real life tomorrow. Oh well, in two weeks I will be gone again with my folks to Branson so that will be something to look forward to. I just hate to see what damage I did in the morning when I get on the scales. If you know me - I will be stressing out and exercising like a fool this week to get it off. I LOVE IT!
